Weskalia's Supernatural the Animation Tv Review

Supernatural the Animation

Rated: 7

As a remake product, Supernatural: The Animation is exactly the kind of experience any fan of both kind has been waiting for. Still, the biggest problem of this series is the same kind Madhouse did to Devil May Cry several years ago, a bunch of monster hunts tied together and ended up overreacting during the last episodes. Kidding execution and writing aside, it's not bad for fans of the TV series to watch the same story in anime format... they still might be better off watching Supernatural season 7 because the creativity and intellectual of this series are average at best. It's simply a piece of well-executed service, and by keeping the same animation style, the same story format, and even the same actors, it succeeds on that front.

Weskalia's Kurokami Tv Review

Rated: 7

What this series lacks is creativity, and it tries to compensate with its attitude and energy; keep in mind, this is still your standard shounen series. Good visuals, fantastic music score and a few strong scenes ultimately elevate this one above the mediocre level, but those are far from enough for this to be reasonably considered a top-tier title. The potential for this one to have been much better is certainly here, but the execution is not even if Kuro is utterly adorable.

Kurokami is a very enjoyable anime for fans of the genre and those who keep looking for a decent action comedy with likable characters.

Weskalia's Birdy the Mighty Tv Review

Rated: 8

All told, Birdy the Mighty: Decode serves its purpose well of reclaiming the right for old school anime. Its idea is not so new, but with its high production qualities are more than enough to attract any anime fans.

Season one is a bit cheap, sketchy but if you stick with the series to its second, that's when the producers bring the big guns. But since season two starts intriguing then turns sort of predictable and with its cliffhanging ending filled with some left-opened stories, a third one is needed. For all its superior qualities, this is still standard alien fare, complete with silly weird-looking baddies and weapons of mass destruction.

Weskalia's Kore wa Zombie desu ka? Tv Review

Kore wa Zombie desu ka?

Rated: 6

Accept KoreZom for what it is – a simple cutesy fanservice show – and it can be quite entertaining. However, those who finished the show would find it quite disappointing. The plot is divided into two parts with little relation to each other: the first part is about the search for the mystery behind the murders while the second revolves Eu's past. But what more of an utter disappointment is how the producers turn the last episode into a mindless silly gag created for fanservice. There's still the OVA (or perhaps a sequel) to talk about, but I highly doubt they will continue the left-opened story. Just wait to see what other tricks they have up their sleeves.

Weskalia's Trigun Tv Review

Trigun

Rated: 8

For several years Trigun has been one of the top-rated anime to date, even has been considered the first of its kind, a mix of sci-fi and Wild West. Thus it's only natural for a movie to make its way to the big screen. Remember how unsatisfying the original series ended, Trigun: Badlands Rumble may not represent a well-written, in-depth story, but consider it a parting gift, which it had done well. The movie, by all means, is like that, a returned spark for a franchise that has become rose-colored and nostalgic with the passage of time; it certainly is what Trigun fans longed for, a great way lives up to their expectation, and brings enjoyment to one last ride with this great series.

Weskalia's Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 Game Review

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4

Rated: 9

A while before the game was released, players can play the advertising flash games "peeping tom." At that moment, you know you'll find the double amount of (expected) fun in actual gameplay. Persona 4 is one of the best and (quite possibly) last RPGs game the PS2 console ever brought. In a way, it accomplished more than what a spiritual successor could do, a fantastic RPG made to entertain everyone regardless of preference, but what valuable lessons learnt after all the hours of enjoyment is truly significant: accepting yourself and friendship.

When it comes to create ambition, there are few - if any - RPG projects that could easily be compared to Atlus' Persona series. The mixing of RPG and simulation genre in the series, while at first thought, odd, but incredibly entertaining.

Weskalia's Togainu no Chi Tv Review

Togainu no Chi

Rated: 3

Here we go again, if you think Hakuouki is the year's worst bishi then you're not wrong, but now we have another runner-up. Togainu no Chi, in a way, proves to be no different than those "gorgeously poisonous mushrooms;" you tasted it, and you have to do something quick to cleanse your poor stomach. Honestly, if you don't want to waste your time then keep your distance away from this crap, or this genre because nothing's good will come out. A fan of bishi, yaoi with lots of action? There are plenty of those you can find elsewhere. Just stay away, and if you’re only in it because of the bishi, google for wallpapers of them instead.

Weskalia's Rideback Tv Review

Rated: 8

As mentioned above, Rin is the lead character that takes center stage both in the figurative and literal sense and this is marked by the dilemmas she faces in the series. Sadly, these dilemmas are triggered by the side characters, who don't have much of an appearance and aren't well-remembered. And guess what, this factor will lead to what people call a lame ending, which the main antagonist's dead boringly and some problems are left. Despite the character development issue which could have been fixed and the abrupt ending that could have been avoided with one more episode, RideBack is still a good anime to watch, its unconventional plot, fluid animation and admirable female lead make it shines by tying these unrelated elements together.

Weskalia's Baccano! Tv Review

Baccano!

Rated: 9

You take a ticket of the "Baccano!" express and how much of an amazing "ruckus" this ride turns out to be. It's true that the series has been influenced after many American mobsters movies such as "Untouchable" or "Snatch" (in this case, the OP might have been inspired by "Snatch"), the uniqueness in settings: lively characters, a mix of action, comedy, and intense violence, and a complicated story coming together piece by piece, all backed by great music and good artistry make it a must-see series for fans of American mobsters.

If Baccano! isn't the best anime of the year, it's certainly the most entertaining, a dull moment can hardly be found in this one-of-a-kind anime. Like I was, you will be curious to see where this train is heading.

Weskalia's Skip Beat! Tv Review

Skip Beat!

Rated: 9

With someone like Kyoko in the lead, there is of course an super-sized amount of fun to be had watching Skip Beat!. But still, it ends abruptly when there was already another series did the same attempt ten years ago. Shoujo fans don't need to know what I'm talking about, it's Kare Kano of course. They've both ended so sudden even if the epilogues are followed by the manga, however, as much as Kare Kano had stumbled, this little gem has a more delightful end and thus, it doesn't need a sequel.

For over three decades, no series has been able to topple Glass Mask as the top shoujo/acting manga until now.
